Some of the coolest tools that I used to do this were a) the magnetic lasso tool and b) the layer mask tool.
I loved the magnetic lasso because it made it a lot easier to select certain specific images or parts of an image. The layer mask was also SUPER helfpul because it made my image look a little more realistic and I was able to layer the sun behind the mountains and the sun behind the clouds.
